We enjoy a little trip out and about. Tuesday 14th July was the date That was decided on to have a little run round the town. 3! Mini busses were arranged to take our members, and staff, out. We started by going up through the new houses in “Dicks Hill” many of our members had no idea what they looked like and were surprised by how good they did look. . Then it was along the Old Port Road enjoying the scenery and watching the, not so little now, lambs play fighting in the fields. Also seeing just how huge the wind turbines are when you are up closer to them. Down into Portpatrick, which sadly was not as busy as we had expected on such a sunny day. No, there was no icecream stop. Back out of the village and it was onto the back road to Sandhead. Some folks enjoying the scenery while others recounted tales of younger days spent in the area. Coming into the village from the south side, ¬†the busses parked up and we went to Tigh-Na-Mara for lunch. The staff were excellent, very attentive and the food was oh…… Delicious! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, saying they would love to go again. Our members thought a stroll along the beach would have been lovely but unfortunately it was time for home. Thanks must go to our very competent drivers, Angela, Lyn & Chris who got us around and home safely and also to Dorothy and her fabulous staff for looking after us all so well.
