Coronation Day Centre was in a party mood on Thursday, but there was also a sad aspect, as senior carer Margaret White was retiring. Margaret had been a carer in Coronation Day Centre for 16 years.

In May, Margaret had been taken out for Afternoon Tea at North WestCastle, a tad early, but the only day all staff could be there with her.

In the morning of her retirement she was given a card and vouchers from the staff for Henrys Bay House. Then after lunch she was presented with gifts and cards from members of Coronation Day Centre by Mairi McRobert (chairperson), Theresa Croucher and Nina McLean.

Mairi thanked Margaret for her long and constant service to Coronation Day Centre and its members saying what a great asset she had been over the years to the Centre. Margaret thanked all members for their kindness to her over the years and for her gifts and cards. Entertainment was provided by Jim Pratt with members Joining in a sing song, after which tea and cake was served.

We all wish Margaret a long and happy retirement.
